in a world that tries to
put borders and lines
in the way of how
we love, welcome and relate
a heart without borders will never abate
when others see barriers
this kind of love builds bridges
when others count out
it will count you in
because a heart without borders
is what eradicates misunderstanding and hate
it might say
here have some of mine
because well
let’s be honest
none of this really is mine
there is plenty to go around
and i am not ok until you are fine
a heart without borders
creates a feeling
a feeling of home
a respite and a place to heal
wherever one might roam
it is a dose of hope in moments of despair
standing with you
when fear draws too near
and bringing a gentle ear that says
tell me more i want to hear
because a heart without borders
always wants to hear your sounds
it knows no bounds
no walls
no divides
no confines
it just sees so fully
what is right in front of us
a human being
another heart
that just wants to beat
at its own pace
not too fast
and not too slow
just alive and breathing
with air
the air of
love
free expression
culture and tongue
that sometimes wonders
do you have space?
but a heart without borders
always creates place
knowing the more we listen and humble
from sharing our air
i can understand what you makes you you
and how you are a part of me
flooding my eyes with love
and a new ability to see
where we finally stand together
stepping into that world
we know we can be
a world where
your heart
is part of
my heart
and where
you will never find
any border
in me
