Dear Voice
you are soft
you are gentle
you are welcoming
you are hospitable
you are united
you are loving
you are inviting
inviting us into a bigger game
so as Paul once said to the Romans
“so in Christ,
we though many
form one body”
one body that is united
but not uniform
voice, today
and everyday forward
please oh please
step into the fullness of your form
don’t you dare try to conform
don’t you dare try to form
into something other than the heavenly form
of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
voice, we ask and beg of you to speak
speak powerful words that well up from the soul
so oh so slowly what you say
can fill up so many of life’s hidden holes
it is clear voice
no longer do you have a choice
but to keep speaking, writing and creating
as your softness makes us rejoice
oh we love to hear it reverberate and ring through the beauty
of your heavenly sound
because as you get loud
the love of God will abound
the light of Christ will forever surround
us with new courage that we thought was lost
but through you we now have found
so i think it is time to launch voice
because we always, always, always
want you
around
and if your sound ever feels low
if your cup ever feels it has nothing
left to flow
then we ask you give our sister life
keep speaking
keep raising
keep praising
keep uniting
keep defying
the fear, anxiety and worry
that truly have no place in the beauty of her sound
Lord God, this is why we pray for our sister today
we ask you Holy Spirit to lift her up
to overwhelm her with a sense of love
so she overwhelms us
with the light and gentleness of her God given touch
knowing as she grows
it is You we want to see flow
give her strength to use you
use you to step into the fullest nature of her form
so acting as one body becomes
the new norm
let this voice rise to you Lord Jesus
as our sister
is one of your own
oh i hear it now
that day is here
where no one is left alone
just here as one body
a body that makes each other feel warm
using our unique gifts
to glorify our Lord
and today with your help voice
we are united
not uniform
